The public is invited to a project update meeting highlighting Benjamin Avenue, 1st Street construction, and Michigan Avenue work Wednesday, August 16 at the Norfolk City Council Chambers (309 North 5th Street) from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.

Representatives from the project contractors will be on hand to share current progress and answer questions.

As Asphalt overlay and concrete repair work continues, North Victory Road will be closed north of Benjamin Avenue continuing north 1/2 of a mile.  This section of roadway will be closed starting Wednesday, August 9th.

A detour map to access Victory Road is below. Truck traffic is to utilize Highway 35, Industrial Road, High Point Road, and Highway 81.

Asphalt overlay and concrete repair work continues next week. Beginning Monday, July 31 East Monroe Avenue will be completely closed from 1st Street to the Transfer Station. 4th Street to 1st Street will be partially closed with flagging operations.

A detour route of 1st street to Omaha Avenue then east on Omaha Avenue/Highway 275, then south on Victory Road should be used. 

Work…

Beginning Tuesday, August 1, Valli Hi Road will be closed at the intersection of Benjamin Avenue for concrete repairs. The closure should last until August 10 weather permitting. Benjamin Avenue will remain open.
