Due to current high fire danger conditions, Norfolk Fire and Rescue will not be issuing open burning permits and are asking residents to avoid firework usage both today and tomorrow Wednesday, June 29 and Thursday, June 30.

Fires caused by fireworks or any other ignition source will be very difficult to control due to high winds combined with low relative humidity and high temperatures. Norfolk Fire has already responded to firework related fires. Thank you for your cooperation.
