Kylee Soderberg Appointed as New City Clerk

The City of Norfolk is pleased to announce the appointment of Kylee Soderberg as the new City Clerk, pending council approval. Soderberg, who has been with the City since 2021, previously served as an Administrative Assistant and transitioned to Benefits and Compensation Manager in early 2024.

“Kylee has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to excellence in her work thus far with the City of Norfolk. Her experience, enthusiasm, and energy position her well to take on the responsibilities of city clerk. We’re excited to have her step into this important administrative position,” said Mayor Josh Moenning.

In her new role, Soderberg will oversee the administration of city records, manage public inquiries, and ensure that city operations comply with state and local regulations.

"I am honored to step into the role of City Clerk and continue serving our amazing community. I look forward to working closely with our city leadership, councilmembers, and residents to keep things running smoothly and build on the strong foundation of our city and continue to move forward in a positive direction,” said Soderberg.

Soderberg succeeds Brianna Duerst, who recently transitioned to the Planning & Development Manager position within the Planning and Development Division.

“In Kylee’s time with the city she has proven herself to be an organized, efficient and self-motivated member of the team,” City Administrator Andy Colvin said. “She has a strong desire to continue serving citizens in new ways, as well as evolve the clerks' duties to best serve Norfolk well in the future.”

The Mayoral appointment is set to come before the City Council for approval at the first meeting in October.
