Landowners Asked to Clear Debris Before Spring

In light of the recent flooding we experienced in March, public safety officials are asking landowners within Region 11 (Antelope, Madison, and Pierce counties) to clear debris from the floodway by February 1, 2020.

As with every spring, there is a good chance that we could see flooding in our waterways again in 2020. With the events of 2019 still fresh in our minds, now is a great time to prepare for the upcoming wet, spring season.

In order to be proactive and minimize the damage of clogging ice and debris in a flooding event, debris – such as hay bales, storage containers, farm equipment, etc. – within a floodway needs to be removed to help manage the potential damage that spring 2020 could bring. If you have debris on a floodway located in your property, please remove it by February 1, 2020.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation with these efforts.
