At last night’s City Council meeting, World War II veterans Willard Johnson and Orville Eden were recognized for their service as part of Nebraska’s WWII Veteran Recognition Program, honoring living veterans ahead of the 80th anniversary of the war’s end in 2025. As they left the chamber, first responders and fellow veterans stood at attention and saluted—a powerful tribute to their sacrifice. Thank you, Willard and Orville. We salute you!
