North Fork Whitewater Park to Open Saturday

The City of Norfolk is excited to announce the opening of the North Fork Whitewater Park on the North Fork of the Elkhorn River on Saturday, June 8. This new recreational facility offers whitewater experiences for outdoor enthusiasts and families alike.

To ensure the safety of all participants, life jacket and helmet stations are conveniently located at Winter Park and Johnson Park. Life jackets are mandatory for all users, while helmets are strongly recommended. Both life jackets and helmets are available free of charge and can be returned after use. The life jackets were donated by Motorplex of Norfolk and Prime Stop.

Please note that Johnson Park remains CLOSED since it is an active construction zone. We urge visitors to exercise caution in this area. For a safer experience, entering the water at Winter Park and exiting at drop structure 7 south of Norfolk Ave is advised.

We invite the community to enjoy this new outdoor activity while prioritizing safety. We look forward to seeing you at the North Fork Whitewater Park!
