The Norfolk Fire Department was organized in 1884. Since that time, 22 men have served Norfolk as fire chief. The first paid chief was Rudy Wolff, who became full time in 1946. Past fire chiefs of the Norfolk Fire Department are here.

Get a patio permit!  If you are using outdoor fireplaces, stop down to the fire station and get your permit.

Fireworks are allowed to be ignited during the following dates and times in the City of Norfolk:

June 25, 2022-July 3, 2022  8 a.m.-11:00 p.m.

July 4, 2022  8:00-12:00 a.m.
