The Norfolk Fire Division is pleased to announce a generous $3,500 donation from Nucor/Vulcraft to support critical upgrades to its heavy rescue truck.
This funding will assist in the purchase of specialized tool slides that will enhance organization and improve response efficiency during structural collapse and technical rescue situations.
The Norfolk Fire Division remains committed to providing top-tier emergency response services, including fire suppression, medical emergencies, technical rescues, and more. With ongoing construction and development in Norfolk, enhancing rescue capabilities has become increasingly important.
The division has already invested in Para-Tech Struts—essential tools for structural collapse rescues. However, to maximize efficiency and ensure quick deployment during emergencies, the addition of two PAC Vertical Slides is necessary. These slides will securely store the struts on the heavy rescue truck, protecting the equipment and allowing for faster access when every second counts.
“Norfolk Fire and Rescue is fortunate to have such a strong relationship with Vulcraft and the Nucor family. We are very grateful for this donation and look forward to getting these items placed in service,” said Fire Chief Tim Wragge.
The Norfolk Fire Division extends its sincere appreciation to Nucor/Vulcraft for their continued support of first responders and their dedication to community safety.
