COVID UPDATE: Current Library Services & Restrictions

Face coverings are strongly recommended in the library.  Visitors are strongly encouraged to wear a face covering in situations where they cannot maintain 6 feet of distance from others. 

The library follows the State of Nebraska Directed Health Measures in regards to maximum building capacity and group size. There are currently no restrictions on occupancy and group sizes. We encourage visitors to continue to practice good social distancing and hand hygiene. If you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 or are under isolation or quarantine requirements, please do not visit the library. 


Current Library Hours and Services:

  • Building Hours
    • Normal Service Hours in the Building and at the Drive Thru
      • Monday-Thursday 9am-8pm, Friday & Saturday 9am-5pm, Sunday 1:30-4:30
  • Services
    • A reminder of these Special Low Contact Options:
      • Drive-Thru pickup of items is available at the drive-up window on the east side of the building. Patrons may call the library at 402-844-2100 and request that items be held for them at the window. There is a maximum of five items requested at a time.  If using this service, please request the items at least an hour in advance of the expected pick up time. 
      • Locker pickup of items is available. Lockers are located on the east side of the building. Patrons may call the library at 402-844-2100 and request that items be held for them in a locker. There is a maximum of five items requested at a time. 
    • Due dates can be extended for anyone who needs to quarantine. Call 402-844-2100 to request.
    • Normal services are being provided in the building as long as social distancing can be followed.
    • Meeting Rooms A and C are available for use in accordance with our Meeting Room Policy. Both rooms seat a maximum of 75 people and can be combined for a total meeting size of up to 150 people. Groups using these rooms are strongly encouraged to keep meeting sizes smaller than that maximum capacity to allow for adequate social distancing. 
    • Children age 13 and younger need to be accompanied by an adult in the building to ensure that social distancing is followed

  • Disinfecting Protocols in the Library
    • Increased disinfection of high touch surfaces will continue.
    • Increased disinfecting of soft seating in the public area will continue.
    • Provision of hand sanitizer to the public will continue.
  • Library Staff Protocols
    • All Staff will wear masks when in the public areas of the building and when near other staff.
    • Staff will be vigilant about hand washing and sanitizing after handling materials and helping patrons.
