Yellow Level Services and Hours

The Library will begin following a shifting level of services that will coincide with the Elkhorn Logan Public Health Department's COVID-19 Risk Dial.

When Madison County is in the Yellow Zone, the following hours and services will be available:

  • Building Hours
    • Normal Service Hours in the Building and at the Drive Thru
      • Monday-Thursday 9am-8pm, Friday & Saturday 9am-5pm, Sunday 1:30-4:30
    • Special hour for high-risk populations
      • Monday-Friday 9am-10am
  • Services
    • Normal services will be open as long as social distancing can be followed
    • Available: check-in, check-out, computer use, printing, copying, scanning, faxing, MakerSpace, studying, meeting, Notary Services
    • Limited help on computers and in MakerSpace
    • Imagination Forest Play Area will be closed due to the difficulty of maintaining social distancing and proper disinfecting between uses
    • The number of computers available will be reduced to allow for social distancing between users
    • Lounge and study seating will be made available in accordance with current DHM guidance on building occupancy rates
    • Children age 13 and younger will need to be accompanied by an adult in the building to ensure that social distancing is followed
  • Programs
    • In-Person Programs may occur as is feasible and if social distancing can be reasonably accommodated
    • MakerSpace Classes may be offered, but masks will be required since social distancing cannot be accommodated
  • Disinfecting
    • Increased disinfection of high touch surfaces
    • Provision of hand sanitizer to the public
    • Library book covers and media cases will be disinfected upon return
    • Staff will be vigilant about hand-washing and sanitizing after handling materials and helping patrons
    • Increased disinfecting of soft seating in the public area
  • Library Staff
    • All Staff will wear masks when in the public areas of the building
