North Fork Whitewater Park

The North Fork Whitewater Park is newly renovated and is now open to the public! There are various access points: 1st St. Put in, Winter Park, and Johnson Park in Norfolk. The final take-out location is in East Bluff Park.

Parking is available at the 1st Street put-In, Winter Park put-In, and Johnson Park take-out. There is a trail access to the first and last drop structures from Johnson Park. There is no cost and there is access for everyone. Patrons are encouraged to bring your own kayak, paddle board, tube, surfboard or contact local outfitters for rental information.

There are seven whitewater drop features in the river. There is one river surfing feature, which is optimal when river levels are medium (blue) or high (yellow). Check our Active Webpage and Facebook page to view ongoing river recreation programs and to view water conditions and updates.
