Directed Health Measures Implemented in City Parks

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Resources has issued Directed Health Measure Orders for Madison County on March 29, 2020. The City of Norfolk Parks and Recreation Division will follow those orders and encourages all citizens to follow these orders.

City of Norfolk Receives Ten Free Trees

Thanks to the Free Trees for Fall Planting program, an effort of the Nebraska Forest Service and the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum, the City of Norfolk received 10 trees for the Playground and Trail Head Shade project.

City staff planted eight trees around the Skyview Park playground and two trees at the flood control trail head along Omaha Avenue to give needed shade to these two areas.

Fish Stocking Update

1500 Rainbow Trout of approximately 10" size were stocked into the Ta-Ha-Zouka Park pond on March 30, 2019 by the Nebraska Game & Parks Commission. Another 1500 Rainbow Trout were stocked on April 16, 2019.

Embrace Park

Work is ongoing for the Embrace Park development. The playground, splashpad and parking lot have been completed.  The multi-purpose field is finished. The bathroom building will be finished later this summer.
