Johnson Park Ice Rink Information 

Open Skate Hours 

Monday - Thursday 5 - 8pm

Friday 5 - 9pm 

Saturday 12 - 8pm 

Sunday 12 - 7pm

The Ice Rink is closed for skating outside of open skate hours with the exception of programmed events and rentals.

Ice Rink Closure Policy 

Certain conditions may close the ice-skating rink. Here's what to know: 

  • Mechanical Failure - Issues with equipment like the Zamboni or chillers.
  • Severe Cold - If the forecasted high is at or below zero, the park may close for safety. 
  • Rain - Rain causes unsafe conditions and can cause injury to other skaters, closure will be determined by the forecast
  • Blizzard/Heavy Snow - Severe snow or poor travel conditions may require park closure or additional grooming that will prolong opening 
  • Warm Temperatures and Humidity - Warm weather, high humidity, or temperature swings can create unsafe or damaging conditions, possibly leading to extended closures. 

Notifications: 

  • Reserved guests may reschedule or receive a refund. Notifications are made by phone/email/social media. 
  • Severe Cold - If the forecasted high is at or below zero, the park may close for safety purposes. 
Code of Conduct

The following rules are intended for the safety and considerations of all patrons: 

  • Always maintain control of your direction and speed.
  • Read and abide by all posted signs and warnings.
  • Always cooperate with rink staff.
  • No street shoes allowed.
  • Do not carry other skates or objects on the ice.
  • No food or drink is allowed on the ice or the surrounding dashers or cap rails. 
  • No running or climbing on the tables and benches, swinging or throwing objects in the facility.
  • Young children should not be left unattended.
  • No admittance when resurfacing (when the Zamboni machine is on the ice).
  • Refrain from acting in a manner that may cause or contribute injury to you or others.
  • No abusive acts or language are permitted in the facility. 

Any injuries or abuse of rules should be reported to a staff member immediately.
