August 29th Press Release

On August 27, 2022 at 3:00 a.m., a Norfolk Police officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle that was speeding in the 800 block of S. 13th street.  The officer had contact with the driver who was identified as Chad E. Sholes, 30, of Norfolk. During this contact, the officer could smell alcohol coming from him.  He was asked to perform field sobriety maneuvers, and submit to a preliminary breath test. The tests showed that he was impaired to drive.  Sholes was arrested for enhanced third-offense driving under the influence.  He was housed in the Norfolk City jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.

On August 28, 2022 at 3:47 a.m., Norfolk Police responded to the 300 block of S 10th Street for the report of a disturbance involving two females in front of a residence.  One officer had contact with a male and female who were by a parked vehicle. Another officer had contact with two females walking away from the area.  One of these two was identified as Pamela Burns, 28, of Norfolk.  The two females denied being involved in the disturbance and continued to leave the area. The male and female by the vehicle claimed that Burns and the second female were arguing earlier.  After speaking to the officers, they also left the area walking.  As they were leaving, they stated that the book bag sitting on the truck of the parked car belonged to Burns. Officers checked the bag for any type of identification.  Instead, they discovered a digital scale and a bag of marijuana.  Officers took the items into evidence and attempted to locate Burns.  She was located in the 600 block of Cedar Avenue.  They questioned her about the marijuana.  After speaking to her, she was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.  She was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.

On August 28, 2022 at 7:31 p.m., Norfolk Police were called to a residence in the 700 block of Linden Lane to recover possible drugs.  When officers arrived, they spoke to the reporting party who stated that a medication pill was found in Alexandra D. Jacobsen’s, 24, of Norfolk, purse along with a straw that had burnt residue on it.  The pill was identified as Oxycodone.  Jacobsen was questioned by the officers.  She did not have a prescription for the medication.  She was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. She was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
