On January 14, 2022 at 11:38 p.m., Norfolk Police were called to a business in the 300 block of Northwestern Avenue for a disturbance.  It was reported that there were several men involved in a physical altercation. As officers were arriving, some of those involved left in a vehicle.  An officer was able to stop the car and identified the driver.  The back seat passenger was very uncooperative and provided the officer with a false name. The officer ran the subjects fingerprints through the portable Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) and identified him as Lyndon A. Hawk, 46, homeless.  Hawk had an active South Dakota arrest warrant.  He was taken into custody for the warrant as well as for false reporting.  He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.

On January 15, 2022 at 9:09 p.m., Norfolk Police were called to an apartment in the 1200 block of Verges Avenue for a disturbance.  It was reported that two males were in an argument and one was armed with a knife.  The armed male had left the area by the time officers arrived.  The other male stated that he and his roommate, Ethan P. Kitto, 43, of Norfolk, had been in an argument.  During this argument, Kitto was holding a knife and was threatening to kill him.  A witness at the apartment also confirmed what happened. Kitto was located and interviewed about the incident.  At the conclusion of the investigation, Kitto was arrested for terroristic threats.  He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.

On January 16, 2022 at 4:52 a.m., Norfolk Police were called to the 200 block of West Maple for a suspicious vehicle.  The caller stated that a pick-up truck was parked and running, but no one had been seen exiting the vehicle.  The vehicle had moved into the 600 block of N 3rd Street by the time officers arrived.  The officer approached the pick-up truck and had contact with the registered owner who was identified as Pedro Nolasco, 23, of Norfolk.  During this contact the officer could smell the strong and distinct odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle.  In a search of the vehicle, officers recovered marijuana.  A small amount of cocaine was also recovered from Nolasco. He was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
