On May 14, 2022 at 11:04 p.m., a Norfolk Police officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle failed to maintain driving in its lane and drove over a curbed median.  The officer had contact with the driver who was identified as Michael K. Keck, 35, of Johnston Nebraska.  During this contact the officer could smell alcohol coming from Keck and saw an open Budweiser beer can in the front passenger floor area of the vehicle.  Keck was requested to perform field sobriety maneuvers.  They showed impairment.  He refused to submit to a chemical test of his breath.  Keck was arrested for enhanced third offense driving under the influence and refusal to submit to a chemical test.  He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
