On October 13, 2021 at 8:56 a.m., Norfolk Police and Norfolk Fire & Rescue were called to an injury accident at the intersection of E. Norfolk Avenue and Hickory Street. A Subaru was westbound on Norfolk Avenue and attempted to make a left turn onto S. Hickory.  As it was turning, an eastbound Dodge Caravan collided with the passenger side of the Subaru, causing the Subaru to flip onto its side.  The Dodge continued southeast and struck a row of trailers that were parked in front of a business.  Both vehicles are considered totaled and there was approximately $7000 damage to the parked trailers.  The driver of the Dodge was transported to Faith Regional Hospital by Norfolk Rescue.  The driver of the Subaru, Michelle C. Salter, 32, of Council Bluffs was cited for failure to yield.
