September 26th Press Release 2022

On September 25, 2022, at 1:49 a.m., Norfolk Police responded to a shoplifting from a business in the 1000 block of S. 13th Street.  The reporter provided a description of the suspect and the vehicle he fled in.  Officers located the suspect’s vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.  The officer had contact with the driver who was identified as Adam L. Fuerhoff, 35, of Pierce.  The officer spoke to him about the shoplifting and recovered the stolen bottle of alcohol.  Officers also recovered a knife with an eight-inch blade.  Additionally, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were recovered.  A check of Fuerhoff’s record showed that he was prohibited from possessing the weapon due to past criminal convictions. Fuerhoff was arrested for possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person.  He was also cited for shoplifting, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.  He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.      

On September 25, 2022 at 3:59 p.m., Norfolk Police responded to a shoplifting from a store at Sunset Plaza.  The suspect stole a pair of shoes and left east bound from the mall.  An employee followed the female suspect and saw her by a vehicle in the 600 block of S 10th Street.  Officers approached and had contact with Mercedes L. Divis, 33, homeless.  They spoke to her about the shoplifting and recovered the stolen shoes that she was currently wearing.  Officers also recovered additional stolen items from a second store at Sunset Plaza.  Divis was arrested for third-offense shoplifting. She was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
