September 6th Press Release

On September 3, 2022 at 9:09 p.m., a Norfolk Police officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle.  The driver was identified as Justis J. Calkins, 24, of Norfolk.  A check of his driver’s license showed that it was currently revoked.  He was taken into custody.  In a subsequent search, a firearm was located concealed under the passenger seat.  Due to previous criminal convictions, he is prohibited from possessing firearms.  Calkins was arrested for driving during revocation, possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person and carrying a concealed weapon.  He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.

On September 4, 2022 at 8:19 p.m., a Norfolk Police officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1000 block of Omaha Avenue.  The officer recognized the driver as Raquel L. Wright, 36, of Norfolk, and knew that her license was currently under suspension.  After confirming this, she was taken into custody.  In a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers recovered methamphetamine.  She was arrested for driving under suspension and possession of a controlled substance.  She was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
