About Safe Communities Norfolk

The Norfolk Safe Community Steering Committee was organized in August 2008. The committee is composed of representatives from Norfolk's schools, law enforcement, first responders, human services, service organizations, disaster services, health care, government and local businesses and industry. This variety allows members and their respective organizations to become fully aware of safety issues in all areas of the community.

The committee will enable program leaders to work together, more effectively reaching the people of Norfolk. The mission of the Norfolk Safe Community Steering Committee is to establish a community partnership dedicated to educating and preventing intentional and unintentional injuries in all parts of the community.
