Downtown Signal Study Begins Friday

The City of Norfolk will be conducting a signal study at two intersections on Norfolk Avenue, set to last three to four months.

Beginning mid-morning on Friday, April 12, the intersections at 4th Street and Norfolk Avenue, and 5th Street and Norfolk Avenue will change to four-way stop-controlled intersections.

The signals will be covered (bagged) as part of the study, and temporary stop signs will be installed. Northbound and southbound left turn movements will be evaluated as well as part of the study.

Residents will notice the change on their commute on Friday evening. If there are any questions regarding the project, please contact the City of Norfolk Engineering Division at (402) 844-2020.
