Norfolk High student Lucy Yost was recognized by Mayor Josh Moenning and the Norfolk City Council on Monday night with the 'People Power' award. Lucy was honored for her efforts in replacing and repairing missing or damaged markers at the gravesites of veterans in Prospect Hill.

“Lucy went above and beyond to honor those who have served their country before her. We commend her for her selflessness, thoughtfulness, and volunteer spirit,” said Mayor Moenning.

'People Power' awards are distributed to Norfolk residents who, of their own accord and motivated by goodwill, love, and care for their neighbors as they do for themselves, commit acts of extraordinary thoughtfulness, generosity, and compassion. These actions demonstrate the power of people helping people and neighbors assisting each other throughout our community.
