Snorton Appointed to City Council

The Norfolk City Council approved Mayor Josh Moenning’s appointment of Justin Snorton as Ward 3 representative. The Council seat opened as a result of Gary Jackson’s resignation in January.

Snorton has been a Norfolk resident since 2002 and is looking forward to serving the residents of Ward 3.  Assisting with growth and making Norfolk a destination for new residents and families are top priorities for Snorton as he joins the City Council.  In his spare time Justin enjoys helping with local sports programs in the Norfolk Public Schools and YMCA.

Snorton is employed as a Senior Manager for Contract Manufacturers with Tyson Foods Inc., where he has worked for the last 27 years.

“We had a very qualified pool of applicants, and I appreciate anyone and everyone who is willing to step up and take on community leadership roles,” said Mayor Josh Moenning. “Justin has a compelling story; he chose to make Norfolk his home and now wants to ensure the community continues to grow into the future. He’s forward-looking, thoughtful, and committed to putting in the work to make Norfolk a welcoming, vibrant city.”

“I am honored for the appointment and to help serve a community that has served me all these years,” said Snorton.

He will officially be sworn in and begin his duties at the February 6th Norfolk City Council meeting.
