Transfer Station “After Hours” Begin Monday

The City of Norfolk Transfer Station will open the “After Hours” yard waste and brush disposal site on Monday, April 1st. The area will be open to Norfolk residents on Monday and Thursday evenings from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from Noon to 8:30 p.m.

This area is not open to commercial customers, non-residents, or for large tree waste. The “After Hours” site will be open from April 1st through October 31st but will be closed on holidays. Please read and follow the signs on-site; yard waste and brush must be separated, no trash, no lumber, and all bags must be emptied.

Yard waste and brush disposal are available year-round during normal working hours, Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to Noon.

Yard Waste and small brush disposal are free to all Norfolk Residents; yard waste includes grass, weeds, flowers, and garden waste. Brush includes all woody plants smaller than 4 inches in diameter. Any tree limb larger than a 4-inch diameter is considered “Tree Waste” and is not free; there is a nominal charge and can only be delivered during Transfer Station normal working hours. Please enter the scale for disposal.

Security cameras are in use; any unauthorized dumping of materials will incur a cleanup and disposal charge. The owner of the vehicle is responsible for any unauthorized material.
