Assistant City Engineer Anna Allen gives an update on 1st Street Construction. At this time NO left turns are allowed in any direction at 1st and Norfolk Avenue.

The outdoor warning siren located at 105 South Chestnut Street has not been reliably activating over the last few weeks. The City is aware of this situation and has been working on this siren. Unfortunately, the solution isn’t a “quick fix,” and parts are needed which have been ordered and will be coming in soon. Due to the high winds and safety concerns, the scheduled demolition of the elevated water tank on North 25th Street Thursday, April 20 has been cancelled.

At this time, no rescheduling date has been confirmed. North 25th Street from Prospect to Hardison Drive will NOT be closed Thursday.

As of 1 p.m. Benjamin Avenue is back open for traffic. Please use caution through the construction zone.

As of 9 a.m. Benjamin Avenue is fully closed for the time being from Queen City Boulevard east to Riverside Boulevard due to a damaged water line. 

Due to the elevated water tank removal, North 25th Street will be closed Thursday April 20th from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This road will be closed from Prospect Avenue to Hardison Drive.
