Police Division

April 29th Press Release 2024

Compliance with alcohol laws is an important part of keeping our youth safe and healthy. In an
effort to verify compliance, Norfolk Police, with a grant provided by Healthy Communities
Initiative, occasionally checks local business to verify they are also doing their part. Underage
participants worked with law enforcement and used their own valid Nebraska Driver’s license
during the checks.

Over the last few weeks, a total of 63 businesses were checked in Norfolk to verify their
compliance. During the checks, only 3 businesses sold alcohol to minors. They were:
Eldorado Hills Golf Course, 1227 Eldorado Hills Rd, Norfolk.
Pizza Hut, 506 S 25th Street, Norfolk.
Tienda Leon, 116 West Norfolk Ave, Norfolk.

Citations were issued at each location and will be forwarded to the Madison County Attorney
for prosecution. Reports will also be forwarded to the Nebraska Liquor Commission for review.
This is a significant reduction in the number of violations from previous years. Thank you to
the Norfolk businesses who have done their part to prevent sale of alcohol to minors.
