On December 1, 2023, at 4:18 a.m., Norfolk Police responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 700 block of East Norfolk Avenue.  Officers had contact with an adult female outside the residence who stated that she had been assaulted by Christopher G. Ward, 42, of Norfolk.  She stated that Ward struck her in the head, placed both of his hands around her neck, and threatened that he was going to kill her.  The victim also has an active protection order against Ward.  Officers interviewed Ward and then placed him under arrest him for third degree domestic assault, strangulation, terroristic threats, and protection order violation.  He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
