On February 14th, at approximately 11:49 p.m. Norfolk police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of the 2100 block of S. 13th/Hwy 81. During the traffic stop the officer learned that the driver of the vehicle Leobardo Saldana 39, of Norfolk had a suspended drivers license. Leobardo was arrested for driving under suspension. During a search of the vehicle a plastic bag containing methamphetamine was located in the vehicle. Also located in the vehicle was a handgun. During the investigation officers discovered that Leobardo was a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing a firearm. Leobardo was booked into the Norfolk city jail for Driving Under Suspension, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Prohibited Person. Leobardo was later transported to the Madison County jail.
