February 8th Press Release 2023

On February 7, 2023 at 7:49 p.m., Norfolk Police and Norfolk Rescue responded to a one-vehicle accident at the intersection of East Benjamin Avenue and North Victory Road.  Officers found a vehicle stuck in the ditch.  The female driver was initially unresponsive to the responding officers, but they were to wake her up.  The driver was identified as Jordan J. Knievel, 21, of Neligh.  During this contact, the officer noted an open bottle of alcohol in the vehicle and could smell alcohol coming from her. She was evaluated by Norfolk Rescue, but was not transported for any injuries.  Officers then requested her to submit to field sobriety maneuvers and a preliminary breath test.  She refused to complete either of them.  She was placed under arrest.  At the jail, she refused to walk into the jail and was uncooperative with the chemical breath test by kicking the officer who was administering it.  She was unable to complete the breath test and was taken to a cell.  During this process, she struck an officer with a closed fist in the face.  In a search of her purse, officers recovered a small metal container that tested positive for cocaine.  Knievel was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, refusal to submit to a preliminary breath test, refusal to submit to a chemical test, assault on a police officer, obstructing a peace officer and possession of a controlled substance.  She was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail

On February 8, 2023 at 1:36 a.m., Norfolk Police responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 400 block of Omaha Avenue.  Officers had contact with an adult male who stated he had been assaulted by Lindsay M. Johnson, 39, of Norfolk.  He explained that during an argument, Johnson grabbed a baseball bat, and swung it at him.  He blocked the swing with his hands, but was struck in the knee.  His hands and knee were red and swollen. Officers attempted to speak with Johnson, but she refused to talk with the officers.  Johnson was placed under arrest for second degree assault.  She was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail

On February 7, 2023 at 6:32 p.m., a Norfolk Police officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle that was driving without their headlights on.  The officer had contact with the driver who was identified as Bradley M. Miller, 36, of Norfolk.  A check of his license showed that it was currently under revocation. Miller was taken into custody for driving during revocation.  Once at the city jail, he was requested to perform filed sobriety maneuvers and submit to a preliminary breath test.  The maneuvers indicated impairment.  Miller was then arrested for enhanced third-offense driving under the influence of alcohol. He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
