On January 10, 2023, at 10:18 a.m., Norfolk Police officers were called to an apartment in the 600 block of South 1st Street to assist a Nebraska state probation officer.  The probation officer had been searching the residence of a probationer and had located drug paraphernalia.  When officers arrived, they recovered a spoon with residue, syringe, broken glass pipe and several small baggies with white residue that had been located in the search.  The spoon tested positive for methamphetamine.  The resident. Nakia R. Wells, 35, of Norfolk, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.  A child also lived in the residence.  Due to the accessibility of the items to the child, she was also cited for child abuse.  She was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.

On January 11, 2023, at 2:00 a.m., a Norfolk Police officer conducted a traffic stop. The officer had contact with the driver who verbally identified herself, as she did not provide a driver’s license.  The officer checked, and viewed, the driver’s license photo of the person she claimed to be.  They did not match.  After further questioning, the driver was correctly identified as Marlene G. Villalobos, 38, of Norfolk.  A check of her license showed it was under suspension.  Villalobos was arrested for criminal impersonation and driving under suspension.  She was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
