On January 27, 2021 at 2:19 p.m., Norfolk Police were called to the area of the 600 block of S. 1st Street for a white pickup driving erratically in the area.  The caller stated that David M. Rhodes, 30, of Norfolk, was the driver the pickup and that he resides in the 100 block of Pasewalk Avenue.  Officers located Rhodes white pickup parked partially on the road in front of a residence in the 100 block of Pasewalk Avenue.  Officers had contact with Rhodes at the residence.  Rhodes was questioned about the situation and admitted to officers that he had been driving the pickup just before officers arrived.  He also gave officers permission to search him.  Officers recovered a prescription bottle of Clonazepam from him that was not prescribed to him. A check of Rhodes license showed that it was currently revoked.  Rhodes was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and driving during revocation.  He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail

On January 27, 2021 at 4:50 p.m., Norfolk Police were called to a business in the 1100 block of Riverside Boulevard.  The reporting party stated that a male subject came inside the store and made some inappropriate and harassing comments to the clerk, then left.  The male remained sitting in his vehicle and has not left the property in over an hour.  Officers located the parked vehicle and found the driver asleep.  The vehicle was running and the officers woke the driver and identified him as Jason S. Bolz, 43, of Osmond. When the officers spoke to Bolz, they could smell alcohol coming from him and saw several empty “shooter” bottles of liquor in the pickup.  He was requested to perform field sobriety maneuvers, but refused to cooperate.  He also refused a preliminary breath test.  Bolz was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol third offences and failure to submit to a preliminary breath test.  Once at the jail, Bolz refused to remove tobacco from his mouth to perform a chemical breath test for alcohol.  He was then also charged with obstructing a police officer and refusal to submit to a chemical test.  He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
