January 2nd Press Release

On 12/30/19 at 9:27 p.m., Norfolk police were called to the 300 block of S. Victory for the report of a suspicious vehicle. Officers responded to the area and located the vehicle. The driver was identified as Charles E. Owens, 34, of Norfolk. Officers questioned Owens and checked his driver’s history. It was determined that his license was currently under suspension. He was taken into custody. In a subsequent search, officers recovered an unloaded .22 caliber handgun in his back pocket and a bag of white powder from the vehicle. The powder tested positive for cocaine. Owens was arrested for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a controlled substance, and driving under suspension. He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
On 12/31/19 at 9:19 a.m., a Norfolk Police officer was called to the 900 block of S. 20th for a report. The reporter stated that Anthony J. Fuerhoff, 37, of Norfolk, had taken her vehicle without her consent. She provided a description of the vehicle for the report. At 10:42 a.m., the officer spotted the vehicle and performed a traffic stop. Fuerhoff was identified as the driver. His license was currently under suspension. He was taken into custody. In a subsequent search, officers recovered a used syringe from his pocket. The syringe tested positive for methamphetamine. Fuerhoff was arrested for unauthorized use of a propelled vehicle, driving during revocation, and possession of a controlled substance. He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
