On January 31, 2024, at 1:05 a.m., Norfolk Police initiated a report of an assault that occurred at an apartment in the 100 Block of Gold Strike Drive.  Officers learned that there had been a physical altercation between Dakota J. Wright, 30, of Norfolk, and a female victim.  The victim stated that Wright struck her in the head and showed the officers her injuries.  She also provided text messages from Wright that he was going to assault and kill her.  Officers arrested Wright for third degree domestic assault and terroristic threats.  He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
