LAW ENFORCEMENT SCAM

It has come to our attention that an organization called "Citizens Behind the Badge" is soliciting
money that appears to be for Norfolk Police.
The mailing contains a survey about police support and mentions Norfolk PD. At the end of
the survey they ask for a donation. This organization is not associated with Norfolk NE Police,
or any other law enforcement organization that we are aware of.
The organization indicates they are out of Virginia. It is unknown how the funds are used or
who receives them.
Research indicates this is a scam and citizens should be aware. Norfolk PD does not solicit
funds by mail. As with all requests for money or donations, citizens should do their research
and only donate to organizations they are familiar with.
