March 13th Press Release 2023

On March 12, 2023 at 3:24 p.m., Norfolk Police were attempting to serve an active Madison County arrest warrant on Nathan C. Eschliman, 39, of Norfolk.  Officers believed he was at a hotel in the 1200 block of South 13th Street.  Officers knocked on the room door and was allowed inside. Eschliman was hiding under a bed and was instructed to come out from underneath it.  Initially he refused, but later complied.  He refused to show the officers his hands, and then reached under the bed and placed his hands in the waistband of his pants.  Officers deployed a Taser and took him into custody. During handcuffing, he struggled and resisted the officers attempt to handcuff him.  Officers searched under the bed where he had been hiding and recovered a black zipper pouch containing methamphetamine and a syringe. Eschliman was arrested for the Madison County warrant, obstructing a peace officer, resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance.  He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.

On March 11, 2023 at 1:29 a.m., Norfolk Police responded to a physical disturbance at an apartment in the 900 block of Woodhurst Drive.  When officers arrived they had contact with an adult female who stated that she had been assaulted by Noah J. Doescher, 19, of Norfolk.  She described that they had been in an argument and that Doescher had placed his arm around her neck, as if to perform a choke hold and also punched her on the left side of her face.  A witness separated the two as police were responding.  Doescher was also interviewed about the incident.  He was then placed under arrest for third-degree domestic assault. He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
