On March 17th, at approximately 7:48 a.m. Norfolk police responded to a call in the 1300 block of Ta Ha
Zouka Rd. The caller report that there was a male subject in a vehicle and that he appeared to be passed
out and that he had a needle in his arm. When officers arrived they located the vehicle and found a male
subject passed out in the driver's seat. Officers were able to wake the subject and identified him as Shady
R. Abbott 47, of Columbus. Officers ran his name and discovered that he had a warrant for his arrest out
of Platte County. Abbott was arrested for the warrant. During a search of Abbott a baggie of
methamphetamine, a methamphetamine pipe, a baggie of pills, and a bag of marijuana were located. A
loaded needle/syringe was located on the floorboard of the vehicle. Abbott was arrested and booked in to
the Norfolk city jail for Possession of a controlled substance (2 counts) and the Platte County warrant.
Abbott was later transported to the Madison County jail.
