On October 19, 2023, at 6:15 p.m., Norfolk Police were notified of a possible human body lodged in a chimney at 1414 S. 3rd Street. Norfolk Police officers and Norfolk Fire responded to the scene and was able to extricate the body from the chimney. An autopsy will be scheduled for the positive identification of the victim. The initial investigation indicates that this is the result of an accidental incident, but police are reviewing all avenues. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
