September 25th Press Release 2023

On September 22, 2023, at 7:45 p.m., Norfolk Police were called to a parking lot in the 100 block of E. Norfolk Avenue.  The caller stated that a female appeared under the influence and had just thrown several empty bottles of alcohol away in a trash can.  The caller provided a description of the female and car.  When the officers arrived, they located the vehicle and had contact with the driver who was identified as Valeria A. Mosqueda Iturralde, 29, of Albion.  During this contact, officers asked her to perform filed sobriety maneuvers.  They indicated impairment.  She was arrested for first offense driving under the influence.  In a subsequent search, officers recovered one oxycodone pill from her purse.  She did not have a prescription for the medication.  She was then also arrested for possession of a controlled substance.  She was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.

On September 24, 2023, at 9:12 p.m., Norfolk Police were called to a physical disturbance between a male and female in the 1400 block of South 2nd Street.  When officers arrived, they had contact with an adult female. She stated that she had been assaulted by Thomas M. Voichoskie, 41, of Norfolk.  She explained that Voichoskie had been drinking alcohol and began yelling at her.  He then struck her several times.  The victim had red raised marks on her left upper arm as well as fresh bruising on her left ribs.  She was also able to provide the officers with an audio recording of the incident.  Officers spoke to Voichoskie about the incident and arrested him for third degree domestic assault.  He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
