Residents Asked to Complete Lead Line Survey

The City of Norfolk, in compliance with recent Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations, will be conducting a comprehensive survey to identify all materials used in the construction of water customer owned service lines. This initiative aims to enhance the safety and quality of the city's drinking water by identifying and removing lead pipes from the water distribution system.

Under the directive from the EPA, the City is mandated to gather information regarding the materials used in all water service lines. Failure to comply with these regulations may result in costly and time-consuming measures such as excavating private lines.

To streamline the data collection process, the City will be distributing the Lead Service Line Survey along with upcoming water bills to all water customers. Residents are urged to participate in this vital survey to assist in meeting the requirements set forth by the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (NDEE).

Water customers will have multiple options for completing the survey:

  • Fill out and submit the paper survey to City Offices at 309 N 5th Street.
  • Scan and email the completed survey to .
  • Submit the Lead Service Line Survey through the City of Norfolk's website: HERE.
