Emergency Exercises Planned

Numerous emergency exercises are set for next week. Kouba Retires after 45 years with the City

After 45 years with the City of Norfolk John Kouba has retired as Norfolk’s Health Official. Kouba has worked in the health sector his entire tenure with the City.

Kouba began his career with the City of Norfolk June 1, 1977, when he was hired as the Health Specialist for the City.

Outdoor Fireplace Permit Form

The Norfolk Fire Division implemented the following for the use of outdoor fireplaces:

Patio type fireplaces are allowed in the City of Norfolk when a burn permit has been issued by the fire division.    You can complete the form below and bring it in or fill one out at either station.  There is no fee for the permit

Permits will be issued annually and will be available for inspection…

Fire Chief Tim Wragge

Tim Wragge was sworn in as Norfolk's newest fire chief.  He has served in the department since 2002 in the inspector, lieutenant, and most recently Assistant Fire Chief position.  He succeeds Scott Cordes, who was promoted to the City of Norfolk's Assistant City Administrator/Public Safety Director.
