Nonprofit Helps Beautify Norfolk
A local non-profit was busy last week helping the City of Norfolk look more beautiful. A group of Premier Marketing employees spent their Friday afternoon assisting City employees with planting five trees at Embrace Park as well as cleaning up litter in City parks and along the trails.

Improvements Coming to Parks and Recreation
On Monday, the Norfolk City Council gave approval to improve a pair of Parks and Recreation Division facilities, the Ta-Ha-Zouka softball complex spectator area which will be paved to accommodate ADA access and Veteran's Memorial baseball field which will be getting new infield AstroTurf.

Embrace Park Maintenance
Embrace Park will be closed a portion of the day Thursday, April 28 for maintenance. During this time, City of Norfolk Park Division staff will be working on installing the shade structures on the equipment.
The park will reopen to the public approximately 1 p.m. Thursday.

City Selects New Arborist
The City of Norfolk has selected Lindsey Kudera as its next Arborist.
Kudera has worked for the City of Norfolk with the Parks and Recreation Division since 2016. She brings experience and knowledge of groundskeeping to her new role.

The back nine disc golf baskets at Skyview Park will be closed to players this week Thursday through Saturday due to new basket installation.

New Disc Golf Baskets Coming to Skyview
Skyview Park will see some updates to its disc golf course. As part of a partnership between the Norfolk Area Visitors Bureau, Norfolk Area Community Foundation Fund, Norfolk Disc Golf Club, and the City of Norfolk 18 new baskets will be installed.
