Embrace Park

Project Description:

Embrace park is an all-inclusive playground, the first in the community and one of few in the area, which includes the grading and seeding of a soccer/multipurpose field, as well as an additional parking lot north of the park. A concrete splash pad is also located south of the new field.

The land that Embrace Park sits on was purchased with a federal grant administered by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. A trail was constructed in 1997 that runs along the river from Benjamin Avenue to the south. In 2011, the Landon Bos Memorial Bike Course was built. Later in 2017, the playground at Embrace Park was constructed.

The previously vacant lot west of the YMCA will be seeded to provide an area for outdoor sports. Additionally, site utilities such as water, sewer, and electricity were needed for the park to function.
